Magi-Nation was one of the coolest games I ever played. And the script was hilarious, I might add xD I wrote this fanfic because I loved the game and wanted to write my experiences in that world. As you can see, it didn't get very far xD

"Whatever." said Jessi as she walked though the local mall with her sister. "There is no way mom would let you do that."

"Why not?" protested the Jessi's younger sister, Shannon. "It's not like I'd get hurt!"

"You know our mom." said Jessi. "There is no way she'd let you play hockey."

"That is so not cool." mumbled Shannon as they walked towards the store where one of their friends worked.

Geoff looked up when they walked in. His store, as usual, wasn't very busy so they could talk. There was going to be a big party that night at one of their friends' houses so all of the kids in their group of friends were excited. Geoff was one of them.

"You guys are both going tonight, right?" he asked them.

"We wouldn't miss it, Geoff!" said Jessi. "This is going to be the biggest party of the year!"

"You'll bring your Nintendo, won't you?" Shannon asked Geoff.

"Of course!" he said. "Jacob said I could hook it up to the T.V. in the upstairs."

"You are going down when we bring our Mario Parties!" said Jessi.

"Oh, I don't think so." said Geoff. "I've been practicing, you know."

"Just admit it, Geoff." shrugged Shannon. "No one has ever beat us at Mario Party, Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers, and..."

"Hold it, Shannon." said Jessi. "You're forgetting the guys from church. They can beat us."

"Maybe so..." Shannon replied, "But Geoff can't!"

After talking a little longer, Shannon and Jessi left for their house. That night, one of Shannon's friends would pick her up and take her to the party while Jessi went to go pick up another friend.

Shannon's friend picked her up a few minutes before Jessi left. Jessi yelled good-bye and got in their car. It was a typical fall night, and it was raining. It was rather gloomy, but Jessi just turned the radio up and continued on. Liz lived a ways out of town and Jessi had never been there before. She had to turn her brights on so she could be sure she wouldn't miss the exit on Liz's directions.

When she saw the correct street, she pulled off and headed down it. The street was rather vacant. Liz said she probably lived in the only occupied house on that street. Jessi looked, but it didn't look like any of the houses were occupied.

"Great." she said to herself. "Now how am I supposed to find which one is hers? I want to be to the party on time."

However, she didn't stop and she just kept going down the street. At the end of the street, there was a tall, gloomy house with a light on.

"That must be it." thought Jessi as she pulled into the driveway. She sat there for a while, just waiting for Liz to come out but she didn't.

"Come on, Liz! Don't make me get out in the rain!" Liz didn't come. Jessi mumbled something under her breath as she put her hood over her head, turned the car off, and got out of the car. Fortunately, the porch was protected from the rain. Jessi rang the doorbell and waited for an answer.

When no one came, she rang again, again and again. Finally she started to get mad. She threw her head back and yelled, "Liz, if you don't answer the door, I'll break it down!". When she opened her eyes she thought she saw something move in the lighted window. All of the sudden, she heard a sound behind her. There was little cat that looked like it had broken its leg.

"Oh no!" said Jessi as she knelt down to help it. As soon as she bent over, the cat limped away into the rain.

"Wait, come back!" yelled Jessi as she put her hood back on. She didn't want to see an animal suffer, even if it meant she had to brave the rain.

For having a broken leg, the cat stumbled fast. Jessi tried to keep up with it, but before she knew it, she had lost it.

"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty..." whispered Jessi as she realized just how far she had come. She could see her car's headlights in Liz's driveway in the distance.

"Great, now I'm wandering the countryside in the rain looking for a paralyzed cat that's faster than I am." said Jessi. What else could go wrong?"

Just as she said that she tripped on something. She caught herself before she fell in the mud, but quickly looked to see what she had tripped on. It looked like a handle to a cellar.

"In the middle of nowhere?" Jessi wondered as she examined it. There were footprints around it, so people had been there recently.

It reminded her of the mystery books she used to read when she was little. Maybe there was a secret hidden in that cellar in the middle of nowhere. She had to find out.

She grabbed the slippery handle and tried to pull. At first she slipped, but the second time, the metal door creaked open.

Jessi peered into the darkness. She didn't have a flashlight, but she wanted to explore. It would also get her out if the rain. As she stood there with the door open, she saw the little injured kitten run past her and into the cellar.

"Wait, Kitty!" said Jessi. "Don't go down there!"

It was too late now. She couldn't just lock the kitten in the cellar. It could suffocate or starve to death.

"How do I get myself into these things?" Jessi wondered as she looked down into the cellar. She thought she saw the cat's eyes glowing. "Come on, kitty!" she coaxed. "I won't hurt you!"

She looked again and saw that it wasn't the cat's eyes that were shining, but it was something else. Jessi quickly looked around for something to prop the door open. She found a large wooden stick that looked as though it had been left there for that purpose. She propped the door open and felt her way down a small flight of stairs as she kept her gaze fixed on the faint glow.

"Am I going crazy?" she asked herself. "What is that thing?"

It almost looked like a strange crystal. "I'm just gonna pick that thing up and get out of here." she thought to herself. "I'll come back with a flash light and get the cat later. Right now, I don't want to miss the party."

Jessi bent down and picked up the little crystal. As she did, she felt a strange sensation flow through her fingertips and the ground began to rumble.

"An earthquake? In this part of the United States?" Jessi shrieked as she began to feel her way back to the door.

"If only I had one of those flash light thingies on my key chain..."

She was just about to the first step when she felt the ground below one foot give way. She gasped and pulled that foot up. The ground under her was falling.

She probably would have been less scared if she could actually see what was happening, but here she was, in the dark, and alone during an earthquake.

Just as the shaking brought her to her knees, the ground beneath her disappeared and she began to fall...

"Beef jump seven kites."

"Pirate jewel mantle."

"Old digging towel."

"Umbrella banana fish stickers."

Jessi stirred at the sound of voices. Where was she, had someone found her and come to rescue her?

She opened her eyes to see two people looking at her. They were both old men in funny clothes.

"Woa!" she said as she scooted away from them. "You don't look like firemen!"

"Lichen inches hole mud." One of them said to her as he held out a bracelet.

"Oh, no you don't!" said Jessi. "I and not taking anything from strangers, even if it was candy."

The other man started to wave his arms wildly.

"Five words, sounds like nose? No, wait, circle?" Jessi guessed.

The other man walked up to her and put the bracelet on before she could resist. "There, is that better?"

"I can understand you!" said Jessi. "What kind of bracelet is this?"

"It allows you to understand our language." said one of the old men.

"What language would that be?" asked Jessi.

"Uhh..." the man hesitated. "I dunno, Orwin, what language do we speak?"

"I guess it doesn't really have a name." said Orwin with an embarrassed chuckle.

Jessi looked annoyed. "Just where exactly am I?"

"Oh, I'm sorry." said Orwin as he extended a hand. "I'm Orwin, the Elder of Vash Naroom and this is Evu, our Historian."

"Come again?" said Jessi, "I didn't get a word of that."

"We live in the city near here, Vash Naroom, and we are the big important guys that everyone loves."

Jessi raised an eyebrow. "It's a good thing all that love hasn't gone to your head."

Evu and Orwin looked confusedly at each other.

"Never mind." said Jessi. "Can you tell me how to get home?"
